Built for gear. Not for the kitchen.
The active is hypochlorous acid (HOCl) — the same molecule your own immune system makes to fight bacteria. Powered by EPA-registered ZeroPoint Technology. No fragrance. No masking. The funk doesn't get covered up. It goes away.
Mechanism, not perfume
Most "gear sprays" are scented air freshener. They mask for an hour, then the smell comes back worse. JockShock goes after the source, so the smell actually goes away.
Engineered for athletic materials
Foam, leather, mesh, padding, plastic — the actual stuff your pads, helmet, gloves, cleats, training shoes, and sneakers are made of. Won't damage gear. Won't stain uniforms. Won't fade colors.
Pro-grade, locker-room ready
Matte-black 32oz bottle. Ratchet-pistol trigger. Built so you can leave it on the bench in front of your team without apologizing for it.
The science
The same molecule your immune system makes.
Cut your hand. Within minutes, white blood cells called neutrophils flood the site, swallow what got in, and trigger something immunologists call the respiratory burst. Inside that cell, an enzyme named myeloperoxidase takes ordinary chloride — salt, basically — and converts it into hypochlorous acid.
HOCl. It's the chemical weapon your immune system has used to fight bacteria since before you could walk. You have been manufacturing it your whole life.
That is the active in JockShock. Not something inspired by it. Not a synthetic cousin. The same molecule, made outside the body instead of inside it. It's also the active in the saline wound sprays sold behind the pharmacy counter — which is the short answer to how one bottle can be safe on skin at use concentration and still do real work on a helmet liner.
Why it isn't bleach
Both come from the chlorine family, and that's where it ends. Bleach is mostly hypochlorite — OCl⁻ — and that minus sign is the whole story. It carries a negative charge, and bacterial cell walls are negatively charged too. Like poles. It gets pushed away before it can do anything.
HOCl carries no charge at all. It's small, electrically neutral, and moves through a cell wall about as easily as water does. Same element, radically different behavior — which is why hypochlorous acid is measured in the literature at tens of times more effective than the hypochlorite ion that makes up most of a bleach bottle.
It also explains the things you'd notice. No bleach smell. No stripped color on a jersey. No rotted stitching. You aren't trading your gear for a clean-smelling bag.
Why your gear smells in the first place
Here's the part most people have backwards: sweat is basically odorless. It's mostly water, salt, and a handful of amino acids. If sweat were the problem, a rinse would fix it.
The smell is what happens after. Bacteria living on your skin and inside your gear treat that sweat as food. Feed them the amino acid leucine and they hand back isovaleric acid — the sour, cheesy note that hits you when a cleat comes out of the bag. That specific reaction, run mostly by a common skin bacterium called Staphylococcus epidermidis, is the documented source of foot odor. Elsewhere on the body the same process yields thioalcohols, sulfur compounds that read as onion and are pungent in literally trace amounts.
Then gear does the one thing that makes it worse. A gym bag is warm, damp, dark, and closed — the ideal incubator. Foam and padding hold moisture for days. The gear isn't just carrying the smell; it's running the reaction.
Which is why air freshener fails in a way you can predict. Perfume puts a smell on top of a smell. The compounds are still there, the bacteria are still fed, and the cover-up quits long before the source does — usually somewhere around the drive home. Going after the source isn't a stronger version of masking. It's a different mechanism.
What "powered by ZeroPoint" means
ZeroPoint is Southland Organics' own hypochlorous acid technology, and it carries an EPA-registered label. It has spent years in poultry houses and processing facilities — rooms where the chemistry either works or you find out fast.
JockShock is that same chemistry, put in a matte-black 32oz bottle with a ratchet-pistol trigger and built for a gear bag instead of a barn. That's the whole origin story: we weren't a startup looking for a formula. We already had the formula, and four D1 athletes who knew exactly what their gear smelled like.
To be exact: the EPA registration belongs to ZeroPoint. JockShock is powered by it. That's why this page says "powered by EPA-registered ZeroPoint Technology" and not "JockShock is EPA-registered" — the first is true, the second isn't, and we'd rather be exact than impressive.
- No fragrance
- No bleach
- No masking
- Safe on skin contact at use concentration
The 60-second post-practice routine
JockShock works best when it's a routine — not a rescue mission. Spray your gear after every practice and every game. The bottle stays in your bag, the funk never sets in, and a single bottle lasts most of a season.
- 1
Spray
Six inches off the gear. Hit the inside of pads, the inside of helmet, gloves, and the inside of the bag itself.
- 2
Air
Open the bag. Hang the gear if you can. Two minutes is enough.
- 3
Done
Pack it back in. The next time you open the bag, it doesn't smell like a dumpster.
Built by D1 athletes
Made because we got tired of the gear stink and tired of products that don't fix it.
JockShock is built by athletes who've lived in gear bags. We knew what was on the shelf wasn't working — bleach destroys pads, household sprays just mask, and the "team locker-room" sprays read like cleaning products. So we built the spray we wanted in our own bags. Powered by ZeroPoint Technology. Made in the USA.

Will it damage my pads or stain a uniform?
No. JockShock is engineered for athletic materials — foam, leather, mesh, padding, plastic. No bleach, no abrasives, no fragrance. Spray it on, let it air, you're done.
How is this different from Lysol or Febreze?
Lysol and Febreze are designed for surfaces in your home and fabric in your closet. They mask smell with fragrance. JockShock uses ZeroPoint Technology to go after the source — so the smell actually goes away instead of getting covered up.
How long does a 32oz bottle last?
If you spray after every practice and every game, a single 32oz bottle covers about 6–10 weeks of heavy use. Casual use stretches it longer. Most serious athletes go through 3–6 bottles a year.
Is it safe on skin contact — mouthguards, headgear?
Yes. The active is hypochlorous acid (HOCl) — the same molecule your own immune system produces, and the same active in wound-care saline sprays. Safe on skin contact at use concentration. We still recommend air-drying gear before re-use.
Where's it made?
Made in the USA. Powered by ZeroPoint Technology.
What's your return policy?
Try it for 30 days. If it doesn't work for you, email us and we'll refund the bottle — keep what's left.

Odor Terminator!
You've heard of odor eliminators but this product earns the official TERMINATOR of odors. No matter how old the smell is, how deep it penetrates or how bad it is, this spray TERMINATES and allows a fresh smell to dominate!

Great product
We’ve been looking forever for a product that can actually get the stink out of our boys’ cleats and sports equipment, and look no further—we finally found it! This product does exactly what we’ve been trying to accomplish for years. What makes it even better is how versatile it is. You can use it on just about anything—from your face and body to furniture, clothing, shoes, and sports gear. The uses are endless. If you have kids who play sports, you know how bad that gear can smell, and this stuff has been a game changer for us. Highly recommend!
